Superbike at Sepang: unlucky Race1 for Savadori and De Angelis
It‘s over sooner than expected the first of two Malaysian Round races for Alex De Angelis and Lorenzo Salvadori.
After the qualification rounds SP1 and SP2, the race taken at 16.00 local time, saw Lorenzo Savadori start from the third row with the seventh fastest time and Alex De Angelis starting from the fifth row with the thirteenth time trial. Sadly the race ended early for both. De Angelis crashed on lap nine of the sixteen planned, while Savadori has he slipped one round later.
Both drivers have fallen by the sudden loss of front-end grip without previous signs. De Angelis crashed while fighting for the twelfth position, while Savadori has followed the same fate as his teammate one lap later while trying to climb the top ten.
After the first race in Sepang, the situation of the standings sees Lorenzo Savadori ninth with 64 points and Alex De Angelis sixteenth with 32 points.
